Hey Beauties,

Thanks so much for hanging in there, I hope you are all enjoying the summer as best as you can. It’s been a couple of weeks and I’ve been doing a lot of reflecting, learning, and self-development. These things have been going on for the last few months but things are starting to get real now. I enrolled in a 6-week card reader course and ordered two decks of oracle cards. This spiritual awakening I’ve been on has been so fun and so energizing. A lot of people either can’t or won’t understand what I mean when I say “spiritual awakening’ and that’s cool. I believe in what I’m experiencing and how it is affecting my day-to-day. I believe, and I’m not asking anyone else to. We all come to things in our own time, and the spiritual awakening process is going to be different for everyone. Right now this is what it is for me, how long have I been telling you to follow the path that calls too and supports you? This is no different! You do you boo, always.

Keeping in step with the theme of spiritual awakenings and spiritual energy I want to talk to you today about the power of energy and how both positive energy and negative energy affect us in our every day.

Have you ever met someone for this first time and gotten that negative energy vibe? Or maybe you find yourself in a situation where you’re trying to be positive and the other person is only sending out negative energy in the form of conversation, social media or expectations? I am willing to bet you have or that you have at least one friend in your life who is in that sort of headspace right now.

Can someone’s negative energy affect us?

I think that it can, actually, I know that it does. We’re all going to have bad days and that’s ok. However, if the only people you are surrounded by are people who give off a negative vibe or negative energy then their negative energy is going to rub off on us.

The thing is if we spend all of our time trying to convince someone who is only giving off negative energy to see things our way or, to listen to an idea or, to look at something from a different point of view and all they want to do is push back, and write you off because they are firmly rooted in what they perceive to be true or their reality, then that is only draining your positive energy.

It only affects you, they’re not bothered either way, they are rooted in that energy and aren’t concerned with how it affects your energy. I need you to remember that you don’t have to give that person any energy at all. The best way to deflate bad energy is to not give it any air in the first place. However, I know that isn’t always possible.

How can we block negative energy from others?

I’d love to tell you just to mute that person, but that isn’t always possible. Sometimes those people are our partners, siblings, close friends. Sometimes muting them isn’t the right way to do it. So how can you remove the negative energies without removing the person? Here are a couple of things that I find help a lot.

  1. A spiritual Protection Prayer. I am relatively new to this concept, however, I’ve been actively practicing it every morning and It has helped significantly. It’s one of those things that just bring in calming energy and reminds you that you are the light and where there is light, no darkness can get in. I follow the prayer as Kyle Gray teaches it in his youtube video.  I find that verbiage has been the most helpful for me! Ideally, you’d say this Spiritual Protection Prayer every morning, but we’re all human and sometimes we forget things. But if you walk into work, or a party or a friend’s house and you feel that negative energy wave or get hit with the bad juju, just excuse yourself and go say the prayer somewhere quiet. It won’t take you any more than a couple of minutes.
  2. A meditative mind- Meditation and meditation music wipes out that negative energy that you may have been carrying around with you. By giving yourself 5 minutes a day to practice a quiet meditation it will greatly reduce the stress you feel around that negative energy and help you call back in the positive energy. I promise you will feel 100 % better. Youtube is a fantastic place to start your meditation journey. It doesn’t have to be hard, just find something that you connect with and that relaxes you. I love guided meditations because they guide you through the whole process. If you’re new to meditation, that is where I would start. Ultimately just find a meditation or someone to who you can relate and start from there.
  3. Start taking an audit of how your energy is affected when you are in certain situations. You need to be able and willing to recognize when someone might not be giving off the energy you desire. Start thinking about the energy you want to give off and decide who in your life gives off the energy you desire. Surround yourself with people that make you feel good, and that is striving for the same energy goals that you are. It’s pretty amazing how quickly you can open a mindset shift when you are surrounded by like-minded people. If you aren’t able to do those things right now, love your friends, family, and co-workers where they are at but repeat steps 1 and 2 daily!

I know that removing negative energies from your life can sometimes be easier said than done. I think what I really want you to take away from this is that: you can and get to control how you want to feel. You can do things on a daily basis to protect your positive energy so that you don’t feel like you are constantly giving it away to those who are residing frequently within their own negative energy.

Take some time each day to do the things that keep your positive energy high and the negative low. Frequently take an audit of an environment or situation you are in and decide how it makes you feel. If it makes you constantly feel negative, then do what you can to still give the people or situation the respect they deserve but also continue to protect your own energy.

If you take anything away from this week’s blog, please let it be this: Don’t let someone take more energy from you than they themselves are willing to give back.

With Love & Inspired Action,

Emily
